It is safe. It is not safe. It depends on your setup, on the
applications/services you have installed. In most cases it works, in
some it doesn't. Voyage is Debian-based, usually you get a message on
what to do if the update wants to change files you changed yourself. If
it is not already set that way, make sure you select 'medium' for
debconf priority:
dpkg-reconfigure debconf
