[Voyage-linux] Any recommended 3g Cards?

We have recently bought a alix board 6f2 (http://pcengines.ch/alix6f2.htm)
that has a sim slot and that with a 3g modem can connect to internet.
By looking in the voyage mailing list I could found some references of
working setups with either MC8790 or MC8775 from sierra networkgs, but the
problem is that both cards are EOLed, and their replace (the MC8705)
doens't seem to work well for the (few) comments I found on internet.
So, anyone can comment their experience on products that can be found in
the market and that are currently on production (doesn't matter the brand)?
