[Voyage-linux] question on cue support in MPD

Hi Joseph,
I ran into this problem in 2008 or 2009. Soon after cue sheet support
was added for a while, but then it was broken in an update of mpd around
2011. I asked around on some of the forums, but I don't think the
developers agreed with the way it was implemented and didn't intend to
fix it.
I needed some of the new updates to mpd to support new playback hardware.
In the end I used the Windows program CueTools to split all of my flac
files into separate tracks. It names and tags them according to the cue
sheet too. It handled everything as a batch once it was set up so it
was less work than I thought, but it took an entire weekend.
Probably not what you want to hear - I didn't in 2011, but after I split
my files I haven't looked back. mpd handles gapless playback perfectly
with the split files in my set up and that was my main concern.
Cheers
Jeff
