[Voyage-linux] problems with HDD install

Hi,

Currently doing a complete rebuild of my system as the (admittedly old) 
flash drive I was using has died and I wanted to install on a partition 
on the USB HDD that I am using to store my music.

Following the instructions on 
http://linux.voyage.hk/content/getting-started-live-cd-v09x and having 
repartitioned a couple of times as the script repartitions the disk when 
you run it i finally did an install with the option 'use flash as is' to 
the first partition on the disk. All well but then got a fatal error 
writing the bootloader with either grub or lilo selected as options.

I am using the wrong guide? If so can someone please point me in the 
right direction.
