[Voyage-linux] Problem creating database on alix

Hi all, I'm having problems rebuilding the database on my alix after
reinstalling voyage-mpd-0.9.2 (but the same problem was present before),
probably due to low ram. It starts regularly with the update but after few
minutes mpd crashes.
I've tried to add a swapfile but the kernel is ignoring it and it's not
used, anyone knows how can I temporarily force mpd to run on a swap file?
I'm a noob on linux.
