[Voyage-linux] apache fails to start

hi, after a purge and reinstallation of apache2 the webserver appears to
start correctly. the problems arise when the system reboots. the apache
does not start and it gives me the following error
root at voyage:~# /etc/init.d/apache2 start
[....] Starting web server: apache2apache2: Could not reliably determine
the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.0.1 for ServerName
(2)No such file or directory: apache2: could not open error log file
/var/log/apache2/error.log.
Unable to open logs
Action 'start' failed.
The Apache error log may have more information.
 failed!
root at voyage:~#

the problem is that the folder /var/log/apache2/ does not exist!
