<p class=MsoNormal>Hello Chaps,<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>I’ve been using Voyage for a fair while now, however,
ever since I first started using it I’ve always made a habit of removing
the RO file system from the box, this just made my life simpler whilst I was
learning my way around things.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Now, every now and then I’ve had compact flash cards
go a bit ‘funny’ on with corrupt and dead sectors, and I’m
suspecting that this is down to me writing the disks so regularly. So I think
it may be time to look at moving onto using the FS properly and keep the RO
stuff in place once the box has been built.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>I need a little help understanding how the read only stuff
works, and your recommendations on the best way for me to have it working. I basically
run 1 application on my system which writes a few files to the FS. Where do I
write the files I want to stay permanent on the disk? And how much storage
space do I have available to me? Do I have any way to increase this allotted space?
What happens if it fills up?<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Thanks for any help you can offer guys, I’m hoping
this will make my disks feel a little less abused :-D<o:p></o:p></p>
