I have been very happy using Voyage Linux for the last six months as a dedicated music server using Music Player Daemon. The Alix board is feeding a dedicated Wavelength Audio Brick USB DAC. Voyage Linux and the ALIX hardware has been rock sold stable. There has been some interest among other audiophiles in putting together this system for their audio systems. The only hurdle is that most are not comfortable using Linux or editing text files, much less logging in via SSH.

I had an idea of putting together some type of appliance using Voyage, MPD, and a web (lighthttp?) interface. Is there an easier way than learning and coding in PHP? Anybody know of a framework for building an appliance interface that would be suitable to use with Voyage? Someone recommended Webmin, but that seems like server configuration overkill, and there is no plugin to configure and control MPD. Have the Voyage developers considered a web gui for server administration that could be expanded with plugins?

Essentially, I'm looking for something like Monowall's interface where one could control some basic tasks and configuration: shutdown, reboot, MPD start and stop, MPD location of music files etc.

Any suggestions on this would be appreciated.
