Hi Punky,

If I know the problem with alix1c before, I should have avoided buying the creative one :(

I live in South India (Chennai) so my options are very limited If I am buying from a store. Does any one suggest me a good USB sound card which is available here ? Or may be I can order one from online ?
Hi Navas,

I also have an alix1 board, it has the same problem when using SB! Live. Honestly, I don't see such problem with my ALIX2 If you plug the SB device after boot up, it would work properly. I would guess that the power supply from USB would be a problem.

Regards,
Hi Every one,

After trying hard to work with my Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 and Voyage MPD on alix1c I am thinking of why don't we create a separate project page wiki where users can brief their projects using Voyage Linux (Of course if they are willing to publish)

I was trying to upgrade my USB sound card since I know the built in sound on Alix1C is not promising. I am using usb sound card which uses C-Media 108 and thought of upgrading to a high end usb sound card. I bought a Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 and just plugged in to the Alix1.C and it detected a USB sound card with no hardware controls or nothing :( . Even my 7 $ C-Media has a hardware control. But the real problem starts when I restart the machine. When the X-Fi plugged in Alix1C simply hangs. I tried various settings in bios nothing works except disabling USB 1.1 support. With this setting it boots, but it throws message "Unable to enumerate device on Port 3" ... So I think PcEngines may have to look at the problem,

So when we have separate Project page, people who needs similar requirement can look at the projects page and they can decide on the hardware requirement which will help the users to make decision on purchasing the right hardware and saves time and money.

I know it is out of scope of Voyage Development, but I hope it definitely helps on Voyage getting more popular and newbees like me.
