Rich - It would help if you specified what files are
not getting copied during your USB installs, or at
least give some samples.

I have made many USB drives and the only problem I
have seen is when I tried to use the same source
directory to make a USB drive after initially doing an
ALIX compact flash install. In that case there were at
least booting troubles.

My standard procedure is to do most configuration and
customization on one master USB drive. I then use dd
to backup the image and copy it to new drives. I make
sure that the "master image" fits on all 1GB USB
drives and then use GParted on my Ubuntu desktop to
expand the partition and files system to fill the
target USB drive. I am trying to CLI tools to do the
partiton / filesystem expand under Voyage so that I
can use a remote USB drive to make more copies of
itself.

I'm giving a "Voyage centric" talk in 10 days and I
would like to make a bootable CD version by then, but
I doubt that I will have time.
everything else is getting cp over like it should excpt for these
dir wich are added to the /etc/default/voyage-util
so I am thinking its a cp bug is the voyage.updated cp script. as
its only those 5 dir that are the issue.
