<html><body style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue',Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">Hi Andy,<div><br /></div><div>I'm using the Audiophilleo 1 with the Alix 2D2. Music data is stored on an HP Microserver running OpenIndiana with ZFS. I'm using nfs as the network file sharing protocol.</div><div><br />There is nothing additional running on either the Alix or Microserver beyond that needed to support mpd, which is why I'm puzzled about the drop outs.</div><div><br /></div><div>Prior to this I stored my music on a Windows XP Pro shared drive and accessed from Voyage / Alix using cifs. I would sometimes have drop outs if the XP machine was under heavy load but they always had an obvious cause.</div><div><br /></div><div>The problem is identifying the source as the drop outs are infrequent. My set up has several variables that have changed since this issue began popping up: new version of voyage and mpd, nfs instead of cifs, different server hardware and OS. It's a lot of effort to go back and isolate the change that causes the issue.</div><div><br /></div><div>Regards,</div><div>Jeff<br /><blockquote><br />----- Original Message -----<br />Hi Jeff,<br />
do you have a similar setup? Do you think it is the HDD setup or the hiface <br />
dsd? Before I installed the hdd raid I did some test with music from usb <br />
stick and it worked fine (at least I can't remember to for some problems) I <br />
will try to play my music from usb... lets see. But I can't imagine that the <br />
raid is the cause for this.. I have copied a lot of music through smb to <br />
this disks and had no issues.<br /><br />
