<div dir="ltr">Hi kim, I'm struggling to find a solution to the database creation problem, I've cutted down to the fact that it seems to be a memory leak problem, I've tried 2 more pc's other than the Alix, one with 1Gb of ram and the other with 6Gb (voyage uses only 2,5Gb) and noted that when launching the database update, looking at memory with the top command, it starts to eat memory at a rate of 5Kib a second more or less. The Alix hangs only after 1 or 2 minutes from start of the update, the PC with 1Gb works for 8-10 minutes at least and the one with 2,5Gb works for half an hour, but for all 3 when the memory is very low the result is the same, mpd hangs. I've tried to reinstall all (0.9.2), and also with differents USB key, tried to eliminate the buffer in mpd.conf but any try was with no luck...I'm really down, I like so much the combination of Alix and mpd and since bought it from you, it has worked for more than a year with no problem at all (apart from occasional WaveIO problems on startup...). I've also tried mpdpup that has mpd version 17.0 or 17.2, don't remember well, but got the same problem.<div>
<br></div><div>Please, have you got any clue? I've also resetted completely the router, changed NAS, PSU, tried with and without WaveIO connected but no way.</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks in advance for your support, Best Regards.</div>

<div dir="ltr">Hi Kim, thanks for your quick reply. I've managed easily to create a swap file on the SD, the problem is that looking at the memory use (using TOP command) even with the swap file active the system uses only ram, not even a byte of the swap. Is the system locked in ram in some way? Thank you, best regards.</div>

Hi all, I'm having problems rebuilding the database on my alix after reinstalling voyage-mpd-0.9.2 (but the same problem was present before), probably due to low ram. It starts regularly with the update but after few minutes mpd crashes.<br>
I've tried to add a swapfile but the kernel is ignoring it and it's not used, anyone knows how can I temporarily force mpd to run on a swap file? I'm a noob on linux.<br>
<br>
Thank you.<br>
