I don't understand too. I think I had a bad day when I've done some stuff.
I have now seen that you have this already in the patch.
I have no idea why my driver did not have this. Only this lines were 
missing.
The source isn't from 2.4 so I really have no idea what I have done ...

Yes 2.6.12 works fine now with reboot but only with wd1100 and watchdog.
I have no more applied reboot patch because useless with this kernel.
This is a TODO for me to see why it doesn't  anymore work some day ...
