[Voyage-linux] how do I get openssl-devel?

I am trying to build a software that requires openssl-devel but there  
appears to be no such package for voyage linux. I edited /etc/apt/ 
sources.list to add

deb ftp://ftp.us.debian.org/debian stable main

and ran apt-get update but all I get is this error:

W: Couldn't stat source package list http://mirrors.geekbone.org  
testing/main Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/ 
mirrors.geekbone.org_debian_dists_testing_main_binary-i386_Packages)  
- stat (2 No such file or directory)
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems
E: Couldn't find package openssl-devel

now I am stuck.

could somebody please help me out here?
