R: [Voyage-linux] RTC issue

Yes, the issue is only with some boards.

During some investigation I've seen that faulty boards are unable to startup the hw watchdog correctly.
Maybe the CS5536 has gone.
The strangeness is that I've no messages about it.

	Hi everyone,
my problem isn't tight to Voyage.

I've a couple of Alix (Alix2 and Alix3) with which I'm experiencing problem in storing the correct date in the RTC.
The boards have the correct battery to mantain the calendar settings.
But when I turn off the board, the RTC looses its settings returning to 1-1-1990.

When running with Voyage I'm able to set the system date and the rtc date and even after days they run aligned and synchronized.

I've tested a lot of other alix1/2/3, but none of them are showing this problem.

You say you have the same installation of some alix boards an of some time does work an other not or on no one??
If this problem is only on one board of course there seems to be a hardware problem..
If no board is working right: Set time right and shutdown system, so the time is saved in rtc!!
While you reboot it's ok. If the system crash time is LOST if it was not saved with shutdown.
Or you can do the following:
/etc/init.d/hwclock.sh reload
and reboot.

Greetings

	It seems an hardware problem.

Is the RTC embedded in the Geode?

Some suggestion? Some tool or command to inspect the bios parameters with linux?

	regards,
	dario
