[Voyage-linux] Flakey Soekris board... watchdog problem.

Sirs, I'm pretty much a beginner and lurker on this  list.

I'm having problems running voyage on a soekris 5501, using
it to route neteworks here. I'm looking for some help here.

The box seems to be freezing about once a week without
apparent reason.  When I say freeze, it fails to respond
on the network and the serial port, and it stops all routing.

I've been trying to install the geodewdt watchdog module
and am getting a segfault, and hence no watchdog.  I would
like to generate some kind of messages with it that might
tell me what is going on.

I've updated the bios on this box to 1.33, the latest.

I understand some people are running the watchdog on this
release and I"m thinking that what I have is a defective
soekris board.

I've contacted soekris and  get no response so far.  I really
would like to have my ducks in a row before returning the board.

I've dug through the list and don't find much that relevant to
this issue, at least, not with the 0.4.1 release.

Anyone here have a clue what  the problems might be with the
geodewdt module?

Any help or direction would be  much appreciated.
