Subject: An MPD music server using ALIX and Voyage Linux
To: voyage-linux at list.voyage.hk
I was hoping to get some advice from the list concerning a small server I am
trying to put together.
Simply, I would like to use an ALIX 3c2c USB as a MPD (music player daemon)
music server. There is no sound card required; output will be via USB audio
with the FLAC files sent to a USB Digital-to-Analog converter. The FLAC
files will be available from a FreeNAS box in another room, or my desktop
via NFS.
Does Voyage Linux contain all the packages that Debian proper offers, i.e.,
can I apt-get the MPD and ALSA packages?
Are there any other issues I should be wary of when using Voyage Linux and
the ALIX board in this capacity?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
