Sounds like you know what you're doing here.  A howto wiki entry would
be appreciated once this is done.  Which USB hardware are you using?

Although I'm a newbie here, AFAIK, Voyage is straight Debian Etch and
any package is installable.  The packages which are unique to this
distro have their own names and so don't replace or override the usual
ones.
