Thanks Punky,

That worked great. The package installed perfectly ( I just agreed with the messages that came up and didn't back up the previous kernel!!!). 

I hope you will be able to keep this in the new compiled versions. I suggest you contact ICOP and DMP and explain that you have a working 2.6 based Linux distro for use with their boxes. 

Now the challenge is to get the wifi going!!

The r6040 driver should be in the latest 5.0-2 voyage kernel:

Please note that r6040 may not be supported or maintained in the next 
voyage kernel > 2.6.23.
