[Voyage-linux] Voyage 0.5.2 and VMWare

As and update on this. I pulled down a vanilla 2.6.27.7 kernel from
kernel.org and edited it to my liking. I compiled in the important SCSI
stuff and made every other SCSI option a module. I then created an
initrd image with all of these modules. In theory this should have let
my kernel boot using any (known to linux) SCSI controller.

However, I ran into the same problem where the kernel is not loading the
SCSI drivers and therefore not able to mount /.

I'm not sure what my next steps should be.
