[Voyage-linux] ALIX 2C2 Kernel hang

Dear Voyage Team,

recently I purchased an ALIX 2c2 Board for firewalling reasons, planning
to migrate from an old Pentum 75MHz to the Geode.

To make a long story short, the kernel hangs right after loading. grub
boots fine, when going to the grub commandline i see every file with tab
expansion and so on... After selecting kernel, initrd both load and
then: nothing. Ive tried 5 different kernels with a lot of variation
with bios features: nothing.

After googling around, I only found similar problems with

 - alix 1 boards, when not connecting a monitor. but the alix 2c2 doesnt
   even have a vga port.

 - the mfgpt thing, but with this issue at least a few kernl boot lines
appear ( I would be happy to read them).

I upgraded to 0.99, getting nomfgpt and udma features, tried both:
nothing.

I tried a standard voyage linux installation from scratch with 0.5.2:
grub is fine, loading kernel and then: nothing.

One "funny" thing: I builded a new kernel fro troubleshooting, starting
with a debian 2.6.24 config is disabled some VESA Framebuffer Feature
(it came from the alix 1 board monitor issue), I think it was some
CONFIG_EDID or so. When using this kernel I see 1 (one) line:

CHECIKING for EDD : blah blah ....ok

and then : nothing

I personally think my board has hardware defects.

Does anyone have similar experiences? I heard of successfully installed
on a alix 2c2 in some forum.

Thanks in Advance,
Clemens
