[Voyage-linux] Alix.3C2 and Ubiquiti XR2/XR5 dependability?

Hello all,
I have been running a couple 3 mile, point-to-point WDS links for about
4 years using Soekris 4511, Senao NL-2511MP Plus and Pebble Linux.
There has been almost no downtime except for when a surge protector got
zapped.
For a new project, I need to create 2 more similar links. This time I
plan to use the Alix.3C2/3D2 with the Ubiquiti XR2 and/or XR5 with
Voyage Linux. I have been testing a pair of units using the XR2 radios
for about a month inside my building separated by about 50ft and two 8
in. concrete walls. I have experimented with and verified the power
output up to ~600mw. Most of the long term testing was done at 100mw.
I will probably need to run about 250-300mw for my new links.
My questions to any of you that are using this combination in the real
world are these: Have you encountered any problems with this combo? At
what power levels does the 3C2 become unstable? Is the 3D2 much better?
Most important for me is uptime. Any problems with lockup, loss of
connectivity, etc. I seem to have experienced some loss of connectivity
but that may be related to the indoor environment with several other
AP's in close range. I did get 14 days uptime during one test.
Any information would certainly be appreciated before I install the
units as they are going on 200ft water tanks and I don't want to make
too many trips up the ladder! ;-)
Best regards,
Mitch
