Thanks so much for your help. I just installed dhcp3-client and edited the file to send the hostname to the DHCP server and it now appears in my router as I wanted it too :-D

Excellent solution! Strange that Pump doesn’t have that same feature.

I do this since I often customize how a machine connects to a DHCP
served network (replace, prepend, or append dns server or search
domains, hostname, mac address etc.)  Whether you do it depends entirely
on your needs.  I am very comfortable with dhclient and I connect these
devices to a variety of networks, often in remote places.

The other advantage is that we only have one dhcp client to train more
junior people on.
