[Voyage-linux] 'ro' changes in version .5 onwards

Hi,
 I am planning a major upgrade from 0.3.x to 0.6.5 of voyage. Using it from a Compact Flash.
I was looking at http://wiki.voyage.hk/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=how_do_i_change_the_hostname
and it says
" in 0.5 you need to edit
/etc/hostname 
the /ro/etc/hostname has no effect
"

My question isn't particular to hostname, but I was wondering if there is some big change
in the ro filesystem between 0.3 & 0.5 (& hence 0.6.5) because of which /ro/etc/hostname
has no effect? Where can I find some documentation about this?

Also where can I find information about all changes which went in between each of the
major releases from 0.3 onwards?
