[Voyage-linux] voyage-mpd comments and question.

Hello,

I've installed voyage-mpd on a couple of my machines, a alix1c and a
Jetway J8F9-P-LF. On the alix I installed lirc and configured it using
the udp module (using the ir receiver in my hdhomerun). Works great.
With the Jetway I apt-get installed xorg and fluxbox. It works
surprisingly well, the only monitor I have is 1920x1200, and the geode
drivers work at that resolution, standard def videos play back well
with mplayer, HD videos don't. The only problem is I need to be root
and the filesystem needs to be r/w. I haven't examined the logs or
tried to figure out how to get it to work with a r/o file system and a
non-root account because I don't normally have this device plugged
into a monitor. All in all I'm very happy with this release and would
like to thank the developers.

I was configuring voyage-mpd on my main mpd device, a alix3c3 and was
disappointed to discover the packaged lirc was compiled without the
mceusb module which I need for my remote. Also the lcdproc package
wasn't compiled with the picolcd driver.

On previous installs of voyage I've tried to compile stuff from source
after installing the build tools but I don't really know what I'm
doing. For example I downloaded the source for the most recent version
of lcdproc, followed the instructions to configure make and install
the code, configure it for my hardware and it would work fine until a
reboot.

So my question is, what should I do to update the available lirc and
lcdproc packages? I don't mind building them myself but like I said, I
don't really know what I'm doing. Can I request they be added to the
next snapshot?

Thanks,

jack
