[Voyage-linux] issues with syncing /var/log

Hi all,
congratulations for this superb distro.

I am using v 0.7 (20110208). I have installed squid but it does not start
complaining that cannot access /var/log/squid/access.log due to subdir squid
not existing.
I read that any changes made into /var/log are synced at rebooting.
But I have created several times /var/log/squid directory and after reboot
it dissapears.
I thought on not mounting /var/log as tmpfs, but I don find how.

Would you please help me?
