[Voyage-linux] short audiodrops while playbak

Hi Andy,
I'm using the Audiophilleo 1 with the Alix 2D2.  Music data is stored
on an HP Microserver running OpenIndiana with ZFS.  I'm using nfs as
the network file sharing protocol.
There is nothing additional running on either the Alix or Microserver
beyond that needed to support mpd, which is why I'm puzzled about the
drop outs.
Prior to this I stored my music on a Windows XP Pro shared drive and
accessed from Voyage / Alix using cifs.  I would sometimes have drop
outs if the XP machine was under heavy load but they always had an
obvious cause.
The problem is identifying the source as the drop outs are infrequent.
My set up has several variables that have changed since this issue
began popping up: new version of voyage and mpd, nfs instead of cifs,
different server hardware and OS.  It's a lot of effort to go back
and isolate the change that causes the issue.
Regards,Jeff

Hi Jeff,
do you have a similar setup? Do you think it is the HDD setup or the
hiface
dsd? Before I installed the hdd raid I did some test with music from
usb
stick and it worked fine (at least I can't remember to for some
problems) I
will try to play my music from usb... lets see. But I can't imagine
that the
raid is the cause for this... I have copied a lot of music through
smb to
this disks and had no issues.

 Andy
